Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Angela Johnson
After 40 years in teaching in North Dakota and Minnesota, I retired in 2013 from teaching, coaching speech, and directing drama. I taught in quite a few schools in the northwestern corner of North Dakota from 1985 to 2013 including Alamo, Wildrose, Bowbells, Williston, and finally Ray. However, after less than a year, I was pulled back to coach speech and direct one-act in Ray. Then, in 2015 I was hired for a half year to teach/supervise a student teacher in Ray so that she could be hired for the second half. Again, in 2017, due to a shortage of English teachers in the state, I was contracted for half years in Max, ND, and then again at Williston. I realized realized (rather slowly) that retirement hadn't quite taken and teaching was not done with me; consequently, preferring a full-time position, I came west over Montana border and was contracted at Sidney High School for 2018-19 school year.
My permanent home is in Ray, 38 miles east of Williston; my husband of 35 years and I have two grown sons, a daughter-in-law, and a grand-puppy. We will be giving up our farming interests this year as my husband has reached official retirement age, but we will continue to work in education. My husband, a former music educator, drives bus for Ray School and still occasionally substitute teaches there. We have been active in music and theatre in Williston, Ray, and Minot in past years and hope to be freed up more to continue those interests as well as work improvement projects on the home and cabin.
