Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to 4th quarter and what a strange trip it’s been! Please know, students, that I greatly miss seeing you every day in class---no, really I do!!!! J
As for this new direction of remote learning, I thought I would give you an update of how I will run my classes. Short answer is: make sure to use BOTH Infinite Campus AND Microsoft Teams.
EVERY SCHOOL DAY:
1. Log on to Infinite Campus and answer the bell ringer. This will count as your “attendance.”
2. Check out on Infinite Campus to see what the weekly assignments are. This could be one, two, or three assignments that I would like you do, most of which you will do on your own and then submit directly back to me. THESE ARE ALL GRADED SO DO THEM!
a. You have 4 options to submit assignments to me---just pick ONE way to submit your work!
i. One is through Infinite Campus
ii. You can go onto Microsoft TEAMS and post it there.
iii. You can email it directly to me (email@example.com)
iv. You can print it or handwrite your answers and physically turn it into the sophomore assignment turn in box in the front of the school.
b. I have attached to TEAMS the PowerPoints that I would’ve used in class so that you can complete these assignments. Also, feel free to use the Internet, just be careful with your sources!
3. Most weeks there will also be a DISCUSSION question(s) that I would also like you to answer. You all know that I enjoy hearing YOUR thoughts about what we are learning, so here is a perfect chance to do that. See this discussion question assignment in Infinite Campus---it IS GRADED so make sure you do it!
As we navigate through this, please be patient and flexible with me and I will do the same with you. For the most part, I have opened the deadlines to more than one day and will give you most of the week to accomplish the assignments. IF SOMETHING ISN’T WORKING, LET ME KNOW ASAP so we can try something else!
I will post assignments on TEAMS as well as PowerPoints and other resources. Similarly, I will put some “extra” items on Teams too—extra credit options like I always have done, some fun video links and other resources. I’ll try to keep it all organized in FILES but remember that I have 5 classes, so hopefully I don’t discombobulate myself keeping it updated!
Again, students, I miss you and hope you’re staying home and staying healthy! Email, private chat on Teams or call me at the school if you have any questions, concerns, or issues!
