REMOTE LEARNING REMAINDER OF 19-20 SCHOOL YEAR
SIDNEY SCHOOL BOARD VOTES UNANIMOUSLY TO NOT REOPEN SCHOOLS
On Monday, April 27, the SPS Board of Trustees voted to keep schools closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The board considered the health and safety of our students and staff to reach a unanimous decision to not reopen schools. If even one case of Covid-19 appeared in a student or staff member, the Richland County Health Department could close schools for two weeks and only 17 school days remain.
Graduation plans will be made by the High School administration and the Senior Class and will be finalized by the SHS administration. The graduation plan will be presented at the next school board meeting on May 11. At the request of the Senior Class, graduation will take place on May 24 as scheduled on the school year calendar.
